CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE


1 1/2 cups butter, softened
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups plain flour
½ cup cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp salt
1 8oz. carton sour cream
1cup boiling water
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add eggs one at a time beating well, after each egg added
Sift flour in with cocoa, soda and salt, and add to creamed butter mixture, in portions alternating with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture and mixing well after each addition.
Add boiling water, then vanilla, mixing well.

Pour batter into a greased and floured 10” tube pan.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 325* oven until done (1 hr and 20 minuets)
Cool cake in pan for 15 minuets; remove from pan and let cool completely



When you can stick a toothpick into the cake & it comes out clean,
it’s done
