PIE FILLING
CHOCOLATE OR COCONUT


2 cups milk
½ cup sugar
4 tbsp. Cornstarch
2 egg yolks
¼ cup white Karo syrup
½ stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
2 tbsp. Cocoa or coconut
pinch salt

Scald 1 ¾ cups milk in sauce pan.
Mix ¼ cup milk with cornstarch stirring until cornstarch is dissolved.
Stir the sugar, syrup, egg yolks, cocoa or coconut into the corn starch mixture and slowly add to the scalded milk, stirring constantly until very thick
Stir in butter and vanilla

Pour into pie shells and bake at 350* until shells are golden
